When you walk though a Storm
An exercise with black and white and using the palette knife almist exclusively to get the textured background. The figue was then painted with an indistinct edge.
On the Piste
Developed from and experiment with blue and green. The rocks added with pallette knife. The colours picked for harmony and then contrast.
Purple Birch trees
Developed from a play panel the trees just appeared. Those in the foground were then emphasied colour and texture and the streaming sunlight added to add a different direction
Inspired by Skógafoss
The rocks were painted with black, green, yellow mixed on the board with the pallette knife to give the effect of rocks.
Then the water fall was painted behind, with many layers of slightly translucent white.
Poppies
The poppies and foreground grasses are slightly raised and textured. The idea here was for the sunlight streaming onto the edge of the cornfield.
